Coldstream fire deemed as arsoN

·1 min read

On Wednesday evening, April 20, a suspicious blaze caused significant damage to a house in Coldstream, near Hartland.

"It was arson," said Hartland Fire Department Chief Mike Walton.

He said his crews responded to the call on McBurney Road in Coldstream at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Walton said no one lived at the house, noting it has been vacant since last fall.

The house, which the chief said was uninsured, sustained significant damage before fire crews brought the blaze under control.

Walton said the home's kitchen area took the brunt of the damage.

The chief said members of the RCMP attended the scene, noting any investigation would be in their hands.

Western Valley RCMP has not returned calls at this time.
