Coleen Nolan became visibly emotional on Loose Women on Monday as she delivered an update on the health and wellbeing of her sisters Anne and Linda.

It comes as her elder sisters recently disclosed that they were both undergoing treatment after being diagnosed with cancer.

Appearing on the ITV programme, Coleen, 55, shared: "They’re great, unbelievably great, but they’re scared. Anne’s suffering terrible from anxiety, something she’s never ever had in her life.”

She added: "Linda is devastated with her hair loss."

Linda, 61, has cancer in her liver after she previously overcame breast cancer in 2006. In 2017, incurable secondary breast cancer was found on her pelvis.

Meanwhile, 69-year-old Anne has stage three breast cancer, having beaten the same illness back in 2000.

Coleen told the Loose Women panellists that the pair have both good days and bad days, but that she wasn't able to visit them due to their compromised immune systems.

"They are so joyous and still laughing. They obviously have terrible days where they feel ill. It’s hard because I can't go and see them because they're incredibly high risk.

"The initial thing is I wanted to jump into the car, drive to Blackpool and wrap my arms around them. It’s heartbreaking,” she went on.

Coleen went on the remark that cancer had "devastated" her family. The Nolans lost their sister Bernie to breast cancer in 2013 when she was just 52.

The prevalence of cancer in her family has led Coleen to consider undergoing a mastectomy as a preventative measure.

She said it was something she was "seriously considering: and would be seeking the appropriate medical advice, however, also added: "I really have been really happy and I'm not going to let cancer ruin that."
