Collision between two jet skis injures two on the Mississippi Coast, authorities say

Two people were injured after a jet ski collision Friday in Pass Christian, the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources said.

Two jet skis collided, said Charmaine Schmermund, the public affairs director at the Department of Marine Resources. She said one person’s arm was injured and another person had a minor head injury and was taken to a hospital. A third person involved was “fine,” Schmermund said.

The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office was first called to a crash on the water in Pass Christian, Deputy Hanna Hendry said. She said the crash occurred near Sunset Landing and Bayou Portage.

Authorities were working to recover the jet skis from the water Friday afternoon, Schmermund said.
