Comedian Ralphie May has died at 45

Ralphie May has died at 45.

The comedian was found dead at a private home in Las Vegas on Friday, TMZ reports. He had been battling pneumonia for six weeks, though his suspected cause of death is cardiac arrest.

May continued to perform gigs in the Vegas area despite his pneumonia.

Back in 2003, May finished in second on the since-cancelled reality show, "Last Comic Standing." In years since, he's made a name for himself through a handful of popular comedy specials on Netflix and Comedy Central like "Ralphie May: Austin-Tatious," "Ralphie May: Too Big to Ignore" and "Ralphie May: Imperfectly Yours."

May was born in Chattanooga, Tenn. He married his ex-wife Lahna Turner in 2005 before filing for divorce in 2015. They share two children together, who they engaged in a custody battle over. TMZ reported that he was "devastated" by the split.
