'Dancing On Ice' and Vamps star Connor Ball requires more stitches after holiday trampolining accident

The Vamps bassist Connor Ball has had yet more stitches in his chin after being injured in a trampolining accident on holiday.

The 26-year-old musician - who set the record on Dancing On Ice earlier this year for the contestant requiring the most stitches after injuring he chin and his leg - was enjoying himself in Italy with his bandmates and admitted he had been drinking.

Ball told his followers on social media: "It was just stupidity I was having too much of a good time, and I’d had a few drinks.

“There was a trampoline in the sea, and I thought it would be a good idea to backflip off of it.

“My knee went into my face – it split open my chin. It’s symmetrically the other side to where I cut open my chin on Dancing On Ice – I’m going to have two identical scars.”

The Last Night singer revealed bandmate Brad Simpson came to his rescue and helped him to seek medical attention.

Ball went on: "Brad had to hold my chin together – he could see the bone.

“There was blood all over me, and all over him.

“I went to hospital and they stitched it up, but I carried on bleeding all through the night.

“We carried on the celebrations, so my blood was pretty thin.”

Ball shared a picture on his Instagram stories of himself in a bar enjoying more drinks, with stitches visible in his chin.

The Scottish-born musician competed in ITV celebrity skating competition Dancing On Ice earlier this year, during which he cut his chin in rehearsals, and had his leg was sliced open by a blade when he fell during a jump.

Ball revealed he’d had a total of 19 stitches.

He said: “I think it’s a Dancing On Ice record."

During one live show he performed with blood dripping from his face after his emergency stitches burst open.

He said of his injury: "I was a bit stressed about the spin and so I kept trying to affect the spin and then I slipped and smashed my chin."
