Conservative MP Shannon Stubbs says rules should change over hiring of family members

Conservative MP Shannon Stubbs on Wednesday said “the rules should change and be specific” when it comes to politicians being able to hire family members. She added that it was fair for Canadians to expect elected representatives "would avoid that kind of decision." The question rose after former Conservative leader Andrew Scheer fired his wife’s sister after questions were raised about him employing her in his constituency office. There is currently no rule saying politicians cannot employ family members.
