ATWOOD – North Perth is facilitating a community conversation to better understand employers’ needs when it comes to training.

They are inviting all employers from any industry, regardless of size. The goal is to use the information provided to develop training resources and become more innovative. It is scheduled for July 19 at 1-3 p.m. or 4-6 p.m. at the North Perth & Region Skills & Technology Learning Hub at the Elma Memorial Community Centre in Atwood. Lively discussion, refreshments, and networking opportunities are promised.

Economic Development Officer Kim Kowch presented the details at the July 6 Listowel Business Improvement Area meeting. In email correspondence, she wrote that, “The objective is to have a facilitated discussion to better understand current and future employer needs around education, training, and skills development. This will help us to create resources that will benefit both employers and jobseekers, helping them to find and keep employees that will support their mutual growth, success, and innovation.

“In addition to employers of all sizes and sectors we welcome stakeholders and partners such as non-profits and education providers, job seekers and those currently employed but hoping to enhance their skills for increased career opportunities in the region.”
