Coronation Street spoilers follow for Monday’s episode (November 11), which is available to watch now on streaming service ITVX and hasn’t yet aired on TV.

Coronation Street has aired another important flashback from the night of Joel Deering’s death, in the show’s latest episode.

This Friday, the show is set to finally reveal who killed Joel last month (with a live special to follow on ITVX) and in the lead-up there have been a number of flashbacks teasing just what happened.

Last week, Dee-Dee Bailey confessed to her dad Ed that she thinks she killed Joel, as she hit him with a crowbar that night in self-defence.

In today’s episode, she decided to hand herself in to the police and told Kit that she was the one who made the anonymous call after the attack.

During the interview, she explained that Joel was alive when she left him, and that he must have driven somewhere else afterwards – and left her a voicemail.

But Kit was interrupted by Craig, who told him that they had found a rock near where his car was left which was covered with Joel’s blood, and that this was the murder weapon instead.

They also found a CS spray near the rock which was registered to Lisa, so she was then arrested for Joel’s murder in the Rovers.

Kit released Dee-Dee without charge then interviewed Lisa, accusing her of hitting Joel with the rock after she was released from the hospital. She explained that she headed straight home, but she had no alibi for the time of Joel’s death.

With the evidence stacking up against Lisa, Carla later asked Kit what was happening, but he warned her to stay out of the situation.

In the café, Carla asked Roy and Ed how they were going to help Lisa, convinced that she was innocent, and Ed was confident that there was more evidence to be found.

"There’s the suitcase Joel had on him the night he was murdered," he said. "Dee-Dee reckons the killer must have gone off with it."

This triggered a flashback for Carla, and she remembered that on the night of Joel’s murder, she left Underworld and spotted Lauren and Max putting a suitcase into a car.

Did they have something to do with Joel’s death?
