Coronation Street airs surprise return in latest episode
Coronation Street spoilers follow from Wednesday's episode (November 6), which is available to watch now on streaming service ITVX but hasn't yet aired on ITV1.
Coronation Street star Peter Ash has made a surprise return to the soap as part of Billy Mayhew's tragic storyline twist.
The actor has filmed new scenes in his role as Paul Foreman, who died in early September.
Paul's husband Billy has been struggling with his grief since the upsetting loss of his soulmate, who'd been living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) for 18 months prior to his death.
Wednesday's episode saw Billy's grief journey come to a head as he hit rock bottom on a significant day for the rest of Paul's loved ones.

Paul's mum Bernie had organised a screening event at the Rovers Return, wanting everyone to watch a recording of the moment that his ashes were sent into space.
Billy has always disapproved of the idea, finding it tacky, and he was left feeling even worse about it after losing his share of Paul's ashes in a recent robbery.
As Billy turned to alcohol before the gathering and continued to drink heavily during the party, the inevitable happened as he drunkenly caused a scene.
Billy pulled the plug on the screening at a crucial point, ruining the moving moment for everyone else. He then made a self-destructive decision by publicly admitting that he tried to kiss his ex-partner Todd Grimshaw on the day of Paul's funeral.

Storming out, Billy continued to drink behind the factory but ended up in a drunken stupor in dangerously cold conditions.
As Billy's health started to deteriorate, he began to hallucinate and saw a vision of Paul, who appeared before him as a guardian angel figure in the end-of-episode cliffhanger.
Peter Ash came back to Coronation Street to film this storyline and will feature in further scenes in Friday's episode (November 8).
His brief comeback was kept under wraps ahead of transmission to surprise fans.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
