Coronation Street - Alya Nazir's fate in stabbing storyline

Coronation Street has revealed the fate of Alya Nazir following her horrific stabbing.
At the end of last night's episode, Alya bravely risked her life to save councillor Maria Connor, who was the target of extremist Blake.
After she was rushed to hospital for life-saving surgery to treat a punctured lung, Alya's fate was left hanging in the balance.
Tonight's (January 26) episode depicted the aftermath of the incident.

Maria, still left shaken by the attack, visited Alya as she woke up following her procedure, thanking her for the brave act.
She expressed her regret at the situation, saying it "should have been her" on the receiving end. Yasmeen rubbished the notion by reiterating that nobody should ever be put in such a position.
After dropping her food, Alya labelled herself a "drama queen" when contemplating if something even worse could have happened.
Her mother refused to let her talk herself down, describing her as a hero as Daryan arrived in the ward.

Upon returning home, Sarah apologised for the incident and offered to assist Alya in her recovery, but Yasmeen said she didn't want anything from Sarah or her family.
As she settled in, Alya became upset when Yasmeen revealed that she shut the takeaway for the night and demanded that she re-open it.
Elsewhere on tonight's episode, Max had to confront the repercussions of his actions as he was arrested on suspicion of incitement to murder.
Despite the walls closing in on him, Max failed to see the error of his ways, maintaining that he's not racist despite the overwhelming evidence.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
