Coronation Street has been hit with more than 130 complaints after killer Corey Brent got away with murder.

Fans of the ITV soap have been gripped as the teenager (played by Maximus Evans) went on trial for the brutal death of Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni).

But they were left fuming when the verdict was returned and Corey was found not guilty, while Kelly Neelan (Millie Gibson) was convicted.

Seb died after being beaten by Corey in shocking scenes broadcast in May.

The attack took place after Corey and his friends mocked Seb's goth girlfriend Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher).

The hard-hitting storyline was based on the real-life murder of Sophie Lancaster in 2007.

After the end of Corey’s trial aired last week, viewers flocked to social media to express their disbelief.

“Where is the justice for Seb???!!” tweeted one seething fan.

Another said it was a huge “miscarriage of justice”, adding: “It's outrageous that Corey was found not guilty of Seb's murder.”

“This is so wrong,” said another person. “Corrie you have really made a big mistake. We needed justice for Seb.”

One viewer wrote said the soap had got it "completely wrong" and added: "That verdict when the story is based on a true crime is a disgrace."

“I’m assuming Corey will be found guilty at some point… if he doesn’t I’ll be protesting,” tweeted another.
