Coronation Street has revealed further struggles for Gemma Winter-Brown, following Paul Foreman's tragic death.

Gemma's twin brother Paul sadly died last month after suffering with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). The storyline, which began 18 months ago, followed Paul's journey as he navigated his life-altering diagnosis.

Recent episodes have seen Paul's family and friends struggle to come to terms with his death. Though Gemma has tried her best to cope, upcoming episodes will reveal the extent of her grief.

In scenes that will air next week, Gemma tells Chesney that she doesn't want their son Joseph to go on the school skiing trip. Chesney realises that Gemma is worried about Joseph's safety and is still struggling after losing Paul.

He does his best to reassure his wife, but troubled Joseph picks up on the tension. Concerned about Gemma, Joseph selflessly tells Chesney he doesn't want to go on the trip and cause her any stress. Will Gemma be able to put her fears aside for Joseph?

Later in the week, Jenny and Chesney discuss if Gemma might like to come back to work. Knowing she's still grieving, Chesney firmly insists that it's too soon. But will headstrong Gemma agree with his decision or will she return to The Rovers?

Meanwhile, Gemma isn't the only one still struggling with her twin's death. Paul's mum Bernie and his husband Billy repeatedly clashed over how best to celebrate his life, with Billy opting for a more traditional send-off.

However, Paul actor Peter Ash exclusively told Digital Spy what his character would have really wanted.

"Do you know what? He'd like a bit of both! Old Paul, absolutely, rave all day long," he said diplomatically. "But since marrying Billy and finding his faith, I think he'd like both sides of it. So it's like: why can't we have both?"

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
