Coronation Street plans emotional new scenes for Bethany and Daniel

Coronation Street is lining up emotional new scenes for Bethany Platt and Daniel Osbourne amid her health storyline.
Bethany recently suffered serious medical issues following a botched liposuction procedure in Turkey, and now lives with a permanent stoma.
In new scenes set to air next week (November 4, 6 and 8), Daniel goes with Bethany to her latest appointment at the hospital. The nurse there recommends a support group after Daniel admits that she rarely leaves the flat.

Later on in the week, Bethany agrees to go to the pub with Daniel for the launch of Paul Foreman's ashes into space, though puts on a brave face. However, she is left mortified when her stoma bag leaks and she rushes out.
Later on, Bethany and Daniel kiss and make up after tension over the pub visit, though she tells him that she is not ready for anything more as she is embarrassed by him seeing her stoma bag.
Opening up previously about the cosmetic surgery storyline, Bethany actor Lucy Fallon spoke on the importance of covering the subject.

"Obviously this is really hard-hitting, which is exciting from an actor’s point of view, but it does come with quite a lot of pressure and responsibility to get it right because this happens to real life people," she said.
"The storyline is also incredibly important as there’s countless horror stories out there of people talking about their experiences of cosmetic surgery abroad. I really hope this storyline can make people rethink going abroad for cosmetic surgery."
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
