It’s a busy week for the Weathefield police, who end up arresting James Bailey, Todd Grimshaw and Laura Neelan in the space of five days. Plus Summer’s health takes a turn for the worse and Hope unleashes her anger.
Read on for all this and more in your spoiler guide to Coronation Street for the week of the 26-30 July 2021.
James is injured in police attack
Monday’s drama finds James test-driving a sports car with his brother Michael after the star footballer is offered £30,000 for an interview.
But their fun is ruined when a police car pulls them over. James immediately questions the officer’s actions, only to be arrested for obstruction and handcuffed. In the process, James trips and injures his leg, with his agony witnessed by Craig, who rounds the corner at that very moment.

And after it’s revealed that someone has filmed the arrest and posted it online, James decides that he needs to make a formal complaint to the police.
Todd’s crimes are revealed
Viewers hoping to see Todd get his comeuppance should put Wednesday 28 July in their diary as it’s here that we’ll see him being taken down a peg or two.
The catalyst for his downfall comes when Summer lets slip to Will that Todd gave Billy £1000 towards the halfway house. Realising that he’s been ripped off, Will then lists all of Todd’s crimes and reveals the lengths he went to in order to split up Billy and Paul.
Determined to get payback, Will then sends an incriminatory video featuring Todd to Paul, who ends up screening the footage in Victoria Gardens to the locals who’ve gathered for the launch of the naked calendar.
Billy is left staring at Todd in disgust before the conniving double dealer is arrested for theft and led away.
Summer is in danger
However, this certainly isn’t the last we’ll see of Todd. By Friday, he gets involved in a storyline involving Summer, who drinks a fruit cider handed to her by Aadi. She doesn’t think it’ll affect her blood-sugar levels but ends up feeling unwell and heading home.
After learning from Aadi that Summer wasn’t in good spirts, Todd ends up kicking the door in to the flat, where he finds her lying unconscious on the kitchen floor. Will Todd step up and save Summer?
Laura Neelan is arrested
Imran attempts to stop the presses when he makes it clear to Laura that if she sells Kelly’s story to the papers, then he and Toyah will report her to social services.
Later on, a police officer arrives at the factory and arrests Laura on suspicion of child cruelty. She’s left raging at Imran and Toyah for what she believes to be their actions – but might someone else have put in the call?
Hope plays mediator
Hope seems an unlikely peacemaker, but after she hears Fiz and Tyrone rowing in the furniture shop, the youngster demands that they both help her with a school project.
But expect Ty to be left feeling jealous and Fiz rather amused when Hope’s work sees her include Fiz’s new romantic interest Phill in her picture. And there’s further upset when, after accusing Tyrone of spending his money on the new baby and not her, Hope ends up secretly ripping the head off a teddy bought for the child that Alina is expecting.
