Her victory – the third in as many years – was announced prior to Monday's (September 25) ceremony, edging out EastEnders star Shane Richie, Emmerdale's Samantha Giles and Hollyoaks actress Chelsee Healey in a tough category.
"I've had some great stuff to act this year on Coronation Street, some meaty stuff, and I'm very grateful that you think I'm good enough to win this prestigious award in a show I'm very proud of – so thank you," Lipman shared in a statement to the Inside Soap readers.
Inside Soap Gary Gillatt editor said: "This year, the peerless Dame Maureen has shown her incredible range as a performer.
"This mix of light and shade is quintessential Corrie, and our readers can't get enough!"
Also vying for awards recognition next week are Weatherfield favourites Charlotte Jordan (Daisy Midgeley), Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott), Todd Boyce (Stephen Reid), Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown), and Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan).
Last year's Inside Soap Awards saw EastEnders taking home the prestigious Best Soap award.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
