Coronation Street actor Neville Buswell has died at the age of 76.

Buswell was best known for playing Ray Langton in the long-running British soap.

An obituary for the star was published on the website of Las Vegas' Palm Eastern Mortuary and Cemetery, stating that he died on December 25, 2019.

Buswell joined Coronation Street in 1966 as troublemaker Langton and first left the show later that year. He then returned in 1968 and remained in the soap for a decade, before being written out of the show when his character abandoned his family and moved to the Netherlands.

He then moved to Las Vegas, where he worked as a croupier, and made a final return to Coronation Street in March 2005 for a six-week story arc that saw Langton return to Weatherfield and reunite with ex-wife Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) and daughter Tracy (Kate Ford) before dying of cancer.
