Kevin tries to wreck Corey’s future
A desperate Kevin wants Abi home and believes that one way of achieving this is to get Corey thrown out of Weatherfield County.
Aware that the thug has been promoted to the first team, he decides to have a word with County’s manager and warn him that the team is playing alongside a murderer. But Kev’s efforts fail and he ends up getting a visit at the garage from Corey’s dad Stefan, who warns him off.
Seeing this, Tim can’t help but be worried about his best mate’s health and urges him to back down for the sake of his sanity.
David protects Max – but will Daniel pay the price?
Daniel is summoned to a meeting with the deputy head after David reports him to the school for assaulting Max. Yet while Daniel is quick to apologise for grabbing Max’s jacket, he refuses to withdraw his accusation about the stolen wallet. But he’s then issued with some stark advice: if he doesn’t want to risk his career, he ought to pacify David.
But when Max then tries to use a bank card in the corner shop that gets declined, David gets suspicious. He ends up letting rip at Max, but when the youngster’s insolence prevails, he’s left wondering whether he did the right thing.
Daniel, meanwhile, is left horrified when he learns that the police have been informed about the incident with Max.
Audrey prangs Rita’s car
It’s Audrey’s birthday but she’s offended by the “old lady” gifts she receives from her family and snaps at Gail when she remarks on her having to squint in order to read.
When Rita then turns up wanting to bury the hatchet after their row at Norris’s funeral, Audrey storms out and gets into her car. But no sooner has she started the engine than there’s a loud crunch, with Audrey left aghast as Gail tells her she’s reversed into Rita’s vehicle.
In the wake of the accident, the Platts start to wonder whether Audrey is losing her faculties. But she accuses them of being ageist and refuses to even go for a simple eye test. Cue an intervention by David, Shona and Gail, who try to make Audrey see sense. But will she listen?
