Coronation Street's Peter and Carla face marriage crisis

Peter and Carla Barlow have faced a marriage crisis in Coronation Street.
Even though Peter was recently cleared of criminal responsibility over Stephen's death, he has been on shaky ground with Carla and his family over fears that he's not coping.
There was still tension with the couple in Monday's episode (November 6), as Carla returned home from Spain still unsure of whether her marriage would survive.
Carla faced trouble at the factory as well once she learned that Sarah had hired back Michael in her absence, in spite of him accidentally handing over the company's bank details to Stephen.
Sarah stood behind Michael, revealing he'd brought in a huge new client for a pitch. Carla remained furious, yet she was drawn away by concerns over Peter.
Ken had called Carla to reveal his concerns that Peter may be drinking again. Their suspicions were only heightened when a look around the flat revealed a bottle of whiskey was missing.
Peter returned home during the phone call, immediately realising his wife and father suspected him of drinking. He explained he wasn't drinking — in fact, he'd just come from another AA meeting.
"I don't go around stealing whiskey," he insisted.
The truth came out when Simon Barlow off-handedly confessed to knicking the bottle to give to his mate as a last-minute birthday present.
Sarah eventually found Carla alone with a replacement whiskey bottle at the factory, with Carla insisting she was simply celebrating Underworld landing its new client.
Carla apologised for missing the big presentation, yet Sarah assured her everyone understood because Peter really needed her.
Sarah told Carla it was understandable that she assumed Peter had nicked the whiskey, though it was important to remember Peter hadn't actually done it.
"I think everyone's going to be okay," Sarah promised Carla.
Carla confessed to Sarah that she wasn't sure she could handle "the stress" of Peter trying to come to grips with killing Stephen, whether he had the drink or not.
Sarah encouraged Carla that if she stuck it out with Peter, it would be "worth it" when they came out the other side stronger than ever.
"I don't think it will. Not this time," Carla realised.
With Peter's exit looming, is there any chance of saving his marriage?
