Pfizer said Monday that an early peek at the data on its coronavirus vaccine suggests the shots may be a surprisingly robust 90% effective at preventing COVID-19. And while Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Monday the early data is encouraging, an eventual vaccine is no use to anyone who catches the virus now. Trudeau said until a viable vaccine is available for mass distribution, Canadians need to keep up the good safety and hygiene practices recommended by public health officials.
