Coronavirus: Trudeau says half of COVAX funding goes toward domestic vaccine doses

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Friday spoke with reporters outside Rideau Cottage in Ottawa about Canada receiving COVID-19 vaccines from COVAX, an initiative to help low- to middle-income countries receive vaccines, stating that when wealthier countries financially support it, half of the funding is for domestic doses. He confirmed Canada will receive vaccine doses through COVAX and directly through the pharmaceutical companies the government has already inked deals with.
