Coroner identifies man who died in I-26 crash near Columbia

A Blythewood man was killed after his vehicle crashed into the back of a tractor trailer Tuesday night on Interstate 26 near Swansea.

Ulyssess Donell Green, 36, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Lexington County Coroner’s Office.

Green was traveling eastbound on the interstate when he struck the rear of the tractor trailer, the coroner’s office said. Green was not wearing a seatbelt, according to a coroner’s office Facebook post.

The driver of the tractor trailer, whose identity was not available, was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the coroner’s office said.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the S.C. Highway Patrol are investigating.
