Coroner releases name of metro-east man who died in fiery crash near Red Bud
A 39-year-old Waterloo man died in a single-vehicle crash this week in Randolph County, the coroner announced Friday.
Nathan C. Frischkorn was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to a news release from Coroner Tracy Vallett.
A vehicle crashed into a tree late Wednesday off Blackjack Road about one mile south of Keuhner Drive near Red Bud, according to a news release from Sheriff Jarrod Peters.
The vehicle “was fully engulfed in flames up against a tree” when a deputy arrived.
“Once the fire was extinguished, it was discovered that there was one deceased occupant inside the vehicle,” the news release stated.
The crash remains under investigation by the coroner’s office and the sheriff’s office.
