Could the Bosa brothers reunite on the same team in the NFL? It’s not happening soon.
Two prominent pass rushers in the NFL could, one day, reunite on the same team for the first time since their high school football days at Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas.
Brothers Joey and Nick Bosa discussed that future possibility during quarantine life with the global COVID-19 pandemic continuing on, according to NBC Sports.
“Yeah, we spent every waking hour together the past six months, so obviously we have conversations like that,” Nick Bosa, who plays for the San Francisco 49ers told Bay Area reporters Thursday.
The two brothers played together in South Florida before attending Ohio State. Joey Bosa left for the NFL before Nick arrived in Columbus to play for the Buckeyes.
Joey Bosa recently inked a five-year contract extension with the Chargers, while Nick can’t renegotiate until after the 2021 season, according to CBS Sports.
“We were pretty confident that the Chargers were going to help get it done,” Nick Bosa said, according to NBC Sports. “I’m really happy they did. Joey loves his team and his teammates, so he’s happy. He’s just happy to be stress-free and able to just go to work now.
“Hopefully, maybe, later in our careers get together, but we’re focused on our own paths right now.”
The two are sons of John Bosa, who the Miami Dolphins selected in the first round of the 1987 NFL Draft.
