Netflix Confirms ‘Tiger King 2’ Is Coming Very Soon—and We Already Have a First Look

It’s been a year and a half since we were introduced to Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin in Netflix’s breakthrough docuseries Tiger King, and after all of this time, we’re still left with a bajillion questions.

If the seven-episode limited series left you wanting more, then you’re in luck because the popular show is officially returning for season two. Netflix announced the exciting news on Thursday, with a video teasing all of the platform’s upcoming true-crime projects. At approximately the 50 second mark, viewers get footage from the upcoming sequel, including a look at Baskin in a courthouse, Exotic in prison and, of course, more tigers. See the clip below.

The big announcement doesn’t come as a complete surprise, considering after the first season aired, executive producer Rebecca Chaiklin sat down for an interview with Entertainment Weekly and confirmed that Netflix was exploring the possibility of developing more episodes. When asked what’s next for Tiger King, she mysteriously said, “To be continued.” Chaiklin went on to explain that season two would follow future developments in the case.

“I mean, yes we have a crazy amount of footage, and it’s a story that’s still unfolding,” she added. “We’re not sure yet, but there could be a follow-up on this story because there’s a lot that’s still unfolding in it, and it’ll be just as dramatic and just as colorful as what has unfolded these past few years.”

Although there is no official release date for season two, Netflix revealed that the new installment is “coming soon.”

We’ll be ready.
