Employees at Netflix staged a walkout outside one of the streaming service’s offices in Los Angeles, California, on October 20, in protest of the company’s handling of Dave Chappelle’s new comedy special, which has been criticized as transphobic.
The employees were joined by sympathizers advocating for reforms including investment in trans talent and creators.
The walkout, originally set to take place at Netflix’s Epic building, was relocated to the company’s Vine Street office to accommodate more people.
Protesters were seen clashing with supporters of Chappelle who attempted to interrupt the walkout, local media reported.
