County council candidates announced

In next month's municipal election, Lethbridge County has announced its official candidate list for a seat on council. For Division 1, current Reeve Lorne Hickey will be seeking another term on county council. Hickey hopes to return for his eighth term after this fall's election and, if successfully elected, to eventually win the support of his fellow councillors to return as reeve. Tory Campbell will continue representing Division 2. Campbell has been serving a four-year term, as county councillor. For Division 3, there will be a vote between Robert Horvath and Mark Sayers. In Division 4, there will be another vote between John Kuerbis and Michael Schooten. For Division 5, Lethbridge County council is still looking for someone to run. Nomination papers must be filed at the county's Lethbridge office. Visit lethcounty.ca/p/election-2021 to download the nomination papers. For Division 6, Klaas VanderVeen will be returning for another term. VanderVeen has been councillor for four years. For Division 7, Morris Zeinstra will remain as county councillor. Zeinstra has been a councillor since the last election in 2017. The municipal election will be held Oct. 18.
