Simcoe County Council received a report on May 11, highlighting the efficiencies and enhancements that have taken place as a result of a new operational model that placed several departments into Service Simcoe.
The new model was structured after reviewing several North American service delivery models, including Service Ontario.
The Service Simcoe Department is comprised over several branch-es including Public Engagement (Contact Centre), Communications and Events, Marketing and Creative Services, the Simcoe County Museum, Experience Sim-coe County (Tourism), and the Simcoe County Library Cooperative.
These service branches provide public, staff, Council, and partner-related services and programs.
The report said the new model has worked well, especially under COVID-19 conditions, with special regard to greater synergies, innovation, and modernization, as well as improved resident outreach and engagement and contributions to corporate culture.
The reports went before the Committee of the Whole, on May 11, and were approved by County Council on May 25.
