Couple came to visit friends in Morrisville. Now one of them is dead, police say.

Morrisville police are investigating a fatal stabbing that happened on Athletic Lane early Wednesday morning.

Officers responded to a domestic disturbance around 2 a.m. in the 900 block of Athletic Lane and found a man who had been stabbed once in the chest and was not breathing, according to a news release from town of Morrisville

They tried to save him, but he was taken by ambulance to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Charges are pending against Destinee Unique Baugess, 22, of Reidsville, N.C., in the death of 32-year-old Zachary Obrian Epps, 32, of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., the release stated.

“The preliminary investigation indicates that the suspect and victim were in a relationship and in town visiting friends when the incident occurred,” according to the release.
