The court cases for two of three men charged with arson in Petit-Cap have been delayed.

The two men were in court Friday after a fire destroyed the Elphège & Norbert LeBlanc smokehouse July 9. Both cases were adjourned to a later date.

A date for a bail hearing was supposed to be set for Stephane Gallant, 36, of Boudreau-Ouest near Shediac.

Judge Luc Labonté granted the defence's request to delay the case until Oct. 1.

Tim Dubé, the lawyer of record in Gallant's cases, said he needs more time to review disclosure documents before the case can proceed.

A date for a bail hearing is expected to be set for Gallant's case in October.

Also present in court was Cody Dubchak, 38, of Shediac, who was also charged with arson-damage to property after the July 9 fire.

While his bail hearing was scheduled for Friday, Judge Paul Duffie granted the defence an adjournment until July 26 because of a scheduling issue with Dubchak's lawyer.

The third man charged in relation to the fire, Austin Dernier, is set to appear in court July 22, when a date for a bail hearing is supposed to be set.
