How COVID-19 Impacted Aishwarya Pissay’s Global Championship Plans

As the novel coronavirus spread across the globe at the end of 2019, sending the entire world into a total lockdown, much like everything else, motor racer Aishwarya Pissay’s plans to participate in championships also came to a halt.

“When the pandemic hit, I was supposed to travel to Spain. But, I had to cancel my plans due to the global travel restrictions. It definitely took away my chance of participating at the World Cup in 2020 and all the training that I had planned for,” says Aishwarya Pissay, who, at that time, was at the high point in her career as she had just come back to the country after winning a world championship title.

However, she didn’t let the lockdown dull her spirit and continued training as much as she could in a restricted environment.
