COVID-19 in Sask: Saskatoon bar employee tests positive, patrons asked to monitor for symptoms

A person who tested positive for COVID-19 had been working at the Canadian Brewhouse in Saskatoon's Stonebridge neighbourhood, the Saskatchewan Health Authority said Thursday evening.

The health authority says anyone who visited the business on these dates should monitor and self-isolate if any COVID-19 symptoms arise:

  • July 1 between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.

  • July 2 between 4:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.

  • July 3 between 5 p.m. and 1 a.m. (on July 4).

On Wednesday evening, the SHA also announced that someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in Lloydminster visited multiple locations in the city between June 27 and July 5.

The person visited Walmart, Superstore, the Good Knight Inn and the Superlodge Motel when they were likely infectious, the health authority said.

Anyone who was at those Lloydminster locations between June 27 and July 5 should self-isolate immediately if displaying any COVID-19 symptoms and call 811 to arrange testing, the SHA said.

Symptoms of COVID-19 include:

  • Fever.

  • Chills.

  • Cough.

  • Headache.

  • Aches and pains.

  • Sore throat.

  • Runny nose.

  • Loss of sense of taste or smell.

  • Shortness of breath.

  • Difficulty breathing.

5 new cases announced on Thursday

Five new cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan were announced Thursday, from four separate regions.

Two cases are in the southern region, one in the central region, another in the Saskatoon area and one in the far north region.

Four more people recovered, boosting the number up to 750 overall. There have been 813 cases recorded since March. Forty-eight of those cases are still active.

Five people are in hospital. One person is in a Saskatoon intensive care unit.

There are 25 active cases in the far north region, eight in the north region, six in the Saskatoon area, two cases in the central region and seven in the southern region.

There have been 168 cases linked to travel, 484 to community contacts or mass gatherings, 114 cases have no known exposure and 47 other cases remain under investigation.

There have been 71,757 tests for COVID-19 by the province so far. It processed another 882 tests on Wednesday.
