Covid-19 still prevalent in local communities

NORTH DURHAM/KAWARTHA: Communities in North Durham and Kawartha Lakes are continuing to struggle with rising COVID-19 case numbers.

As of press time, according to the Durham Regional Health Department, Scugog has 22 active cases, including 18 people in home isolation and four people in a hospital. 12 Scugog residents have died from COVID-19, 10 of which were from Port Perry Place Long Term Care home. Scugog has also had 145 resolved cases.

Brock Township currently has four active cases, all listed in home isolation. Brock has also had 45 resolved cases.

Uxbridge has 15 active cases, with 13 people in home isolation and two people in a hospital. Uxbridge has had 23 COVID-19 related deaths and 186 resolved cases.

Meanwhile, the Haliburton, Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health unit (HKPR) is reporting Kawartha Lakes currently has 68 unresolved cases, 314 resolved cases and 39 deaths.
