Chatham motorcyclist dies after crash

A Chatham motorcyclist has died after being taken by helicopter to a London hospital following an early morning crash with a car Friday.

The collision happened around 5:30 a.m. and shut down the intersection at McNaughton Avenue and Sandys Street for a police investigation.

The motorcyclist was a 43-year-old man from Chatham. A 45-year-old Wallaceburg woman driving a car that was also involved in the crash was not injured.

Drivers were asked to avoid the area until police re-opened the roadway just before the noon hour Friday.
