This Creepy App Guesses Your Age, Sex, Job And Dream Partner - Based On Facebook Likes

A hilarious app claims to be able to work out your age, occupation, intelligence and ideal romantic partner, purely by Facebook likes.

The freaky app – Apply Special Sauce – compares your likes on the popular social media site, against millions of other users’ likes.

It was built by researchers from the University of Cambridge, who created a mega database from six million social media profiles and tens of thousands of personality tests.

It analyses users’ digital footprint, guessing their gender, sexuality, intelligence, political and religious preferences, education levels and relationship status. It even reckons it ‘knows’ how satisfied with life they are.

What’s special about this disconcerting app is that it only uses Facebook likes – causing it to unnerve some people.

Facebook uses a range of data, such as profile information and likes, to make up its own personalised news feed by picking the most relevant stories.

Apply Special Sauce is free and was primarily made to showcase the Cambridge university’s expertise in data crunching.

You have to sign in to Facebook to take the test but the service only looks at the liked pages on your account.
