Fort Worth firefighters are working a multiple alarm grass fire along U.S. 287, according to a news release from the fire department.

The blaze was first reported by Harmon Field Park around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, according to the news release. Crews were still working Monday afternoon to extinguish the fire and locate any hot spots to put them out as well.

Crews plan to remain on scene even after that is done because the threat for wildfires and grass fires was high with low humidity, triple digit temps and south winds.

While most of Tarrant County is not undewr an elevated fire risk warning, the National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued warnings for fire risk across several counties west of Tarrant County.
