Curtis Stone and Wife Lindsay Price Look Back on Their Engagement: 'I Didn't Know the Proposal Was Coming' (Exclusive)
"I came from a really traditional family and I wanted to get engaged so much earlier than we actually did," the actress says
Curtis Stone and Lindsay Price are reminiscing about their romantic engagement in Italy.
In an exclusive clip from the Feb. 11 episode of Stone's HSN+ podcast Getting Grilled with Curtis Stone, the Australian chief, 48 and American actress, 47 — who got engaged in July 2012 — share their thoughts and feelings about how the proposal went down. At the time, Price admits that although she knew Stone was taking her on a romantic trip, she had no idea the proposal was happening.
"I came from a really traditional family and I wanted to get engaged so much earlier than we actually did," she says. "But I'm glad you took your time because from the time we met in January until the same time next year, we'd bought a house and everything was so fast."
Price continues, "I think the fact that you waited meant, for both of us, that you had the thoughtfulness to say 'I want her to know that we really thought this through.' "
Stone, who shares two kids, Emerson, 8, and Hudson, 11, with Price, adds: "I was so bloody nervous man."

Elsewhere in the podcast, Stone makes his wife cry happy tears when he serves her the same chocolate mousse with whiskey that he served her when she first came over to his house. As the chef recounts the story, Price shares, "To be honest, this is the moment I knew you were the one."
"It wasn't just because it was delicious," she adds. "It was because you saw that I liked the whiskey, you thought about me ahead of time and then you made this thing that tasted like ... like it was a mind-blowing, delicious ... dessert of dreams."
Stone then presents an overwhelmed Price with the same dessert. "I'm just going to eat until I stop crying," she says.
The couple, who began dating in 2009, officially tied the know in June 2013 in Spain at the Hilton Sa Torre Mallorca Resort.
“Thrilled to bits!” the Australian native wrote following the wedding with a photo on X (then known as Twitter). “To everyone out there, thank YOU for all your love and support! It was so special to share our big day with family and a small group of friends in Mallorca.”

In December 2023, Curtis and Stone opened up to PEOPLE about their family's holiday traditions –including why they usually don't get invited anywhere.
"The truth is we don't ever really get invited anywhere because nobody wants to cook for a Michelin-star chef," Stone told PEOPLE with a laugh. "So we're like, 'Well, let's just do it ourselves.' And we really ended up enjoying it because it's something that we do together happily and I think well."
