Cyclist dead after collision in Fredericton

At least 4 dead in Fredericton after Brookside Drive-area shooting

A 55-year-old cyclist died Saturday from injuries sustained in a collision involving a vehicle in Fredericton on Friday.

Emergency responders were called to the Ring Road on the city's north side around 1:45 p.m. on Friday, according to a statement by the Fredericton Police Force.

The woman, who sustained serious injuries, was transported by ambulance to a hospital in Fredericton, and later moved to Saint John.

She died early Saturday morning, police said.

The adult male driver of the vehicle involved in the crash was not injured, police said.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation by members of the force's major crime, accident reconstruction and forensic identification teams.

The crash happened on the inbound section of the roadway, west of Royal Road.

The woman's name has not been released.
