D-backs recall RHP Clarke, DFA C Murphy
The Arizona Diamondbacks recalled right-hander Taylor Clarke from Triple-A Reno and designated catcher John Ryan Murphy for assignment.
Clarke, 26, was brought up to start Saturday's game at San Francisco. He is 0-1 with a 2.00 ERA and one save in two appearances for Arizona this season.
Clarke posted a 3-1 record with a 7.22 ERA in seven starts at Reno.
Murphy, 28, is batting just .177 with four homers and seven RBIs in 25 games this season.
Murphy was designated as Diamondbacks ace Zack Greinke's personal catcher before the start of the season, and the right-hander is off to a strong start at 6-2 with a 2.89 ERA in 11 starts.
