Three people are facing first-degree murder charges in connection with the Nov. 14 homicide of 41-year-old Dady Jean in Ottawa's Vanier neighbourhood.

Johnnie Locey-Derouchie, 23, and Dominique Paul Chrétien, 20, were both taken into custody by police in connection with the homicide, the city's seventh of 2015. They were both charged with first-degree murder on Wednesday.

Ottawa police announced that two men had been arrested shortly before 1 a.m. Wednesday morning.

A third person, Candy Locey of Ottawa, was also arrested in connection with Jean's killing and charged with first-degree murder on Thursday.

Shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 14, officers were called to the 300 block of Lacasse Avenue in the city's Vanier neighbourhood after receiving a 911 call indicating shots had been fired.

One man — later identified as Jean — was transported to hospital and later pronounced dead. Police said at the time that the shooting was not a random act.
