Daughter of missing Surrey, B.C., woman pleads for mother's return

The daughter of a Surrey, B.C., woman who has been missing for over a week and may be travelling with a homicide suspect is asking for the public's help finding her mom.

Kyonghee Kim was last seen on Oct. 5 and reported missing on Oct. 7. While investigators have been conducting ground and aerial searches in the days since, they have not found her.

There was also a homicide in Burnaby on Oct. 5. Hee Sook Youn was found dead in a strip mall washroom and her ex-husband, Youngku Youn, is a suspect.

Police believe Kim may be with Youn and are concerned for her safety. So is her daughter.

"We are really worried about her as she has been missing for almost two weeks now, and we believe she might be in danger. She has never gone missing before, and it is out of character for her to be gone for this long," wrote Kim's daughter in a statement on Tuesday.

"My mom has never failed to express her love and care as she would not only remind us daily how much she loves us but her actions always spoke louder than words.

"Therefore, her absence feels bigger than ever as our family waits for her return. Her safe return would mean a lot to me and my family. We sincerely ask anyone who may know anything about where my mom may be to please come forward.

"Mom, if you are reading this, I'm worried about you and I want to know that you are OK. Please call me."

Kim's vehicle was found at Golden Ears Park on October 8, where it had been been since she disappeared. Kim is described as:

- Korean.

- 5 feet three inches tall.

- 115 pounds.

- Black hair.

- Brown eyes.

Anyone with information about Kim is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502, or Crime Stoppers, if they wish to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-8477 or www.solvecrime.ca, with file number 2016-145420.
