How New Year’s Day will affect trash pickup in Columbus after Christmas holiday this year

Like any city, the days after Christmas and New Year’s produce more trash than usual coming from Columbus homes after presents are opened and holiday parties are cleaned up.

And city offices are closed for those holidays. But thanks to the scheduled released by the Columbus Consolidated Government, all waste and recycling collection services will run on their normal days.

That’s right: No change to the pick-up schedule this year.

CCG, however, also announced the following locations will be closed New Year’s Day:

311 Citizens Service Center
Civic Center
Ice Rink
Animal Control
Metra Bus Service
Recorder’s Court
Property Tax & Motor Vehicle Registration.

Despite being closed Christmas Day, the city-owned Bull Creek Golf Course and Oxbow Creek Golf Course will be open New Year’s Day.
