The deaths of two people whose bodies were recovered from the Bow River on Sunday are not believed to be suspicious or the result of accidents, Calgary police say.

One body was spotted by a passerby at about noon near Harvie Passage.

About two hours later a second body was observed south of there, near the Cushing Bridge.

Police said Tuesday that the two deaths are unconnected and it's not believed either person died from an accident on the river or under suspicious circumstances.

Investigators are still awaiting autopsy reports and for next of kin to be notified before releasing any further details.
