Demi Lovato Performs New Bilingual Collaboration 'Chula' with Grupo Firme in Texas
The song will be available to purchase and stream on Aug. 15
Demi Lovato is getting her collab on!
The singer, 31, joined Grupo Firme onstage during the group's show in Austin, Texas, on Friday, Aug. 2, to perform their new and soon-to-be-released collaboration, "Chula."
Dressed in a black and red ensemble, Lovato performed the bilingual track with the Mexican band's frontman, Eduin Caz, before they revealed that the song will be released later this month.
In a joint Instagram post shared between Lovato and Grupo Firme, the Grammy nominee posed beside Caz, who flashed a wide smile and threw up a peace sign.
Another post shared on Grupo Firme's TikTok showed Lovato and Caz during a soundcheck before the surprise performance, which came as part of the group's La Última Peda tour.

"Chula" doesn't mark the first time that Lovato has worked on a bilingual song — or one entirely in Spanish.
Back in 2018, they released a collaboration with Luis Fonsi, titled “Échame la Culpa," following the success of his major hit "Despacito" a year prior.
Speaking with Billboard about the team-up, Lovato said, "The first time I heard Luis sing was on 'Despacito.' I was immediately intrigued and so excited at the thought of working with him."
The Camp Rock star — whose most recent releases include 2022's Holy Fvck and 2023's Revamped — added: "I knew some Spanish, but I learned a lot more thanks to a tutor and Luis’ help."
"Chula" will be available to purchase and stream on Thursday, Aug. 15.
