Demi Lovato's ex-fiancé Max Ehrich says he learned their relationship ended 'through a tabloid'

Max Ehrich, Demi Lovato's ex-fiancé, is taking to social media and speaking out about their breakup.

"Imagine finding out," he started, "The status of your relationship through a tabloid," Ehrich wrote in white text on a dark backdrop on Instagram stories Saturday morning, alluding to his break up with the "Confident" artist.

He said he learned that he and Lovato were on the outs while filming a "biopic movie about a Pastor in a Christian Church whose intention of the film is to help people." .

He ended the trio of Instagram story posts with a two word statement and a dove emoji: "God bless," he wrote.

Singer Demi Lovato is engaged to "The Young and the Restless" alum Max Ehrich, the couple announced July 23.

"I knew I loved you the moment I met you," Lovato, 27, wrote to her future husband. "It was something I can’t describe to anyone who hasn’t experienced it firsthand but luckily you did too.. I’ve never felt so unconditionally loved by someone in my life (other than my parents) flaws and all."

In engagement photos captured on the beach, Ehrich, 29, wore all black while Lovato had on a long sleeve white dress and showed off a large emerald cut ring.

There are no longer any images of the couple featured on Ehrich's Instagram page.

Lovato has left shots of the couple on her page, including a photo posted as recently as August and a post referencing Ehrich and his marriage proposal on Sept. 12. Friday, she posted a solo shot, promoting the online therapy app, Talkspace.

The "Sorry Not Sorry" singer, 28, and the "Young & the Restless" actor, 29, called off their engagement after two months," a person familiar with the situation but not authorized to speak publicly told the Associated Press Thursday.

Lovato and Ehrich got engaged in July 2020 after the couple first started dating in March. Ehrich proposed on a Malibu beach on one knee in the sand. Lovato described it as the "best night" of her life.

Lovato said she started dating Ehrich in March just one week before quarantine and lockdown restrictions hit California amid the coronavirus pandemic. The two quarantined together.

The "Tell Me You Love Me" singer said quarantine "accelerated our relationship on a level that you can't really explain to people." She added, "Quarantine either makes or breaks the deal."
