Dennis Quaid's Ex-Fiance Calls Him Out For Supporting Trump

Actor Lea Thompson, who was engaged to Dennis Quaid in the ’80s, called him out for supporting former President Donald Trump.

On X, formerly called Twitter, Thompson responded to a video that was shared of Quaid at a Trump rally, writing, “I was engaged to him,” along with a confused face emoji.

In the video, Quaid is shown speaking at a Trump rally Saturday in Coachella, California, during which he said, “Are we going to be a nation of law and order? Or wide open borders? Which is it? Because it’s time to pick a side.”

Quaid, who recently starred as Ronald Reagan in the movie “Reagan,” has been vocal about his support for Trump. In May, he endorsed the Republican presidential nominee on “Piers Morgan Uncensored.”

“Trump is the most investigated person probably in the history of the world, and they haven’t been able to really get him on anything,” Quaid said.

The same month he said that, Trump was found guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business documents to cover up an alleged affair with porn actor Stormy Daniels.

In 2012, Thompson reflected on her engagement to Quaid in an interview with HuffPost, calling him a “great guy.”

“He taught me everything I needed to know about Hollywood and acting,” she said. “I met him on my very first movie so I didn’t know anything. I really owe him a debt of gratitude for teaching me the ropes.”
