Did You Spot Kate's Parents in New Wales Family Video?
In an intimate, moving video, Kate Middleton shared today she has finished chemotherapy and is cancer free. The footage primarily featured Kate, along with her husband, Prince William, and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, but notably, Kate's parents Carole and Michael Middleton made a brief appearance.
The video, which was filmed last month in Norfolk, shows Carole and Michael playing cards with the Wales family a little after the one-minute mark:
The Middletons are known to be very involved grandparents. A few years ago, Carole shared how she tries to stay active to keep up with her grandkids—who now also include her daughter Pippa Middleton's three children, and her son James Middleton's newborn, Inigo. "I want to run down the hills, climb the trees and go through the tunnel at the playground," she shared. "As long as I am able to, that’s what I’ll be doing. I cook with them, I muck around dancing, we go on bike rides."
Though neither Carole nor Michael has commented publicly on their daughter's cancer journey, their inclusion in today's video makes it clear they have been a key part of her support system as she recovers.
"The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family," the Princess of Wales shared in a personal message. "Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown. The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you. With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything."
