Digging out continues after winter storm

Many people in Saskatchewan are still digging out following a dump of snow from a winter storm on the weekend.

Parts of south and central Saskatchewan received up to 15 centimetres of snow. That, combined with wind, produced many large snow drifts.

Amanda Ruschiensky was among those spending time with a shovel Monday.

"The other night there was like six feet of snow ... because it had drifted up to the door there," Ruschiensky said. "There was a lot. I could barely get to the door the other night."

City officials said that priority streets have been cleared, and crews are moving on to residential areas.

Ruschiensky said she will tackle the job at her home in phases.

"I don't think I'll do it all but as long as there's a path for the mailman," she said.
