Disney fireworks and music to set off Saturday in Vancouver
Saturday's fireworks will be the final and perhaps most magical night of the 26th annual Honda Celebration of Lights with Walt Disney Entertainment representing Team USA.
Spectators can expect nearly 2,500 fireworks, set to classic Disney musical tracks from the Little Mermaid, Pirates of the Caribbean and more.
Several hundred thousand people are expected to squeeze into Vancouver's West End to watch the fireworks as they go off at 10:00 p.m. PT.
If you can't find a spot to see the fireworks, CBC will be livestreaming the fireworks on Facebook and online as soon as they begin.
Police urge those heading to watch the fireworks to use transit and to allow extra time to reach the viewing areas.
TransLink says it will have additional buses and trains to accommodate the event.
Road closures
Road closures for the West End, including: Davie Street, Denman Street and Beach Avenue are in effect from 7:30 p.m. PT.
Access roads into Kitsilano Point are closed from 6 p.m. PT.
Roads will reopen once crowds have dispersed at approximately 11:30 p.m. PT.
Organizers and City of Vancouver officials urge people to clean up after themselves, noting that those attending previous fireworks have left trash on the ground.
