Dog found after going missing in Highway 104 crash

A dog that went missing after a car accident Wednesday afternoon on Highway 104 in Pictou County is back with its owner, RCMP said Friday morning.

Cpl. Jennifer Clarke said Neila, a long-haired, black and white dog, was located Thursday afternoon.

The driver, passenger and second dog were hurt in the crash that occurred about 1:25 p.m. when the vehicle left the road and hit the median between exits 19 and 20.

The passenger suffered serious injuries, the driver's were minor. The other dog, Pepper, could not be saved, owner Ashley Fennell said on her Facebook page.

Neila was thrown from the car and escaped at the scene.

Police had asked for the public's help to locate the dog.
