A dog that was rescued from thin ice on a man-made lake in northeast Edmonton Easter Monday has been reunited with its owner.

The city's animal care control centre was able to track down the owner through the dog's licence.

After a visit to a veterinarian, the dog was deemed to be in good health, said the centre's co-ordinator, Keith Scott.

The dog's owners are still looking for their second dog which has gone missing.

Firefighters and animal control officers were able to rescue the dog after five hours.
